§ 2-86. Proceedings against defaulting officers.

  • In cases of default on the part of any officer whose duty it is to collect taxes, assessments, water rents, water rates and assessments, or any other sums due the city, proceedings against such officer and his sureties may be either by regular suit at law on his official bond, or by motion in the circuit or general district court of the city for judgment and award of execution against him and his sureties upon such bond for the amount of such default, with interest thereon and such penalties as, under the ordinances, may have attached thereto.
