§ 36.1-1. Purpose.

The Lynchburg City Council finds that the designation of the entire city as a technology zone, as authorized by Section 58.1-3850 of the Code of Virginia, will enable the city to provide incentives to qualified technology businesses that locate in or are already located within the city limits. City council believes that providing incentives to qualified technology businesses will benefit the citizens of Lynchburg by creating high-wage jobs and expanding the city's tax base through maintaining, growing and attracting high-technology businesses and industries.
